Enabling Enterprise is an award-winning not-for-profit social enterprise, set up by a team of teachers in 2009. Their mission is “to equip young people with the skills, experiences and aspirations they need to succeed in life.”
Martin Primary School has been working with Enabling Enterprise for two years now and as we enter our third year we are expanding our partnership further across the school. This year, as well as a whole school challenge day, Year 2 and Year 5 will be participating in lesson time projects. These projects are designed to develop the children’s skills even further and to support the children in making links with the skills they have learnt and the school curriculum.
In addition, Year 5 will be participating in business trips. Every child in Year 5 will attend a business trip where they will be challenged and have the opportunity to build on their budding entrepreneurial skills.
Below are the eight skills that Enabling Enterprise seek to foster. The enterprise skills were developed as a set of eight skills, which combined what employers are looking for and the skills that had been shown to unlock learning.
